This paper deals with the necessity, feasibility, research and measures concerning the quality standardization for raw materials of CMM in the course of CMM modernization. This standardization is believed to be helpful in promoting the quality stability and thus the curative efficacy of these materials, facilitating large-scale production, standardizing circulating channels and markets, and making Chinese medicines more competitive on the international market.
