生物药材的质量是由其物种的遗传性和环境条件决定的,规范药材生产过程,保证药材的质量,首先要用植物分类学来界定药材的种质来源,发现生态环境因子与药材生长发育的关系,探索道地药材的成因,使药材在适宜的环境中生长,达到最佳质量。在药用植物栽培过程中,研究种子的生物学特性和植物的生长发育规律,根据不同物种在不同时期的特殊需要提供必要的种植条件和管理措施。按照植物的生长发育节律,综合有效成分含量和产量两方面来考虑,以植物自身的阶段性性状发育特征为指标,客观判断药材的最佳采收期。掌握时间、空间环境条件对药材质量的影响,有针对性地制定药材的适宜加工方法和贮藏条件,使其在外观性状和内在质量上达到优质标准。

The quality of Chinese medicinal plants is determined by the heridity of their species and the environmental conditions under which they grow. To standardize the production procedures of medicinal plants and ensure their quality, people should first define the sources of their species with the knowledge of botanical taxonomy, find out the relationship between ecological environment factors and the growth and development of medicinal plants, and explore the cause of genuine medicinal plants so that medicinal plants are able to grow in an appropriate environment and attain their high quality. During the cultivation of medicinal plants, it is necessary to study the biological characteristics of their seeds and the regulations of their growth and development and provide cultivating condition and managing measures in accordance with special demands of different plant species in the different periods of their growth and development. And the objective judgement of the best harvesting time of medicinal plants should be based on the regulations of their growth and development, the content of their integrated effective constituents and their yields and the index of their own characters shown at different stages of their development. In addition, necessary attention should be paid to the impact of time and environmental conditions on the quality of medicinal plants, and suitable processing methods and storage condition be arranged for specific medicinal plants. As the result the characters and quality of medicinal plants can afford to achieve a high level.
