如何发挥中医学的优势与特色,开拓有中国文化和科学思想特色的中医基础理论研究新局面,是目前中医基础研究面临的新问题。如中医的临床治疗范围是否已不能拓展,甚或越来越狭窄了;中医在现代医学、现代科学背景下的优势和作用是否只是光环,甚或已经逐渐丧失,或只是浮在暗流上面的泡沫;中医是否能在国外发展,是否必须用西方科学思想来改装它,才是走向科学的唯一出路等。这些问题又是中医基础理论研究面临的挑战。因此,如何从中医经典出发,冷静思考,制定合理的研究方向和目标规划是中医基础理论研究者应高度重视的课题。

The new problems which traditional Chinese medicine is facing at present are how to bring into full play the advantages and special features of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） and to develop a new situation with the characteristics of Chinese culture and scientific ideology in the study of TCM fundamental theories, such as whether the scope of TCM clinic treatment is able to be expanded or is becoming even narrower and narrower; whether the TCM advantages and roles under the background of modern medical science and other sciences are only a halo, which is probably fading step by step, or which are only bubbles swimming on the undercurrent; whether TCM is able to develop abroad and whether it is the only wayout that TCM has to be remoulded by Western scientific ideologies on its way to science. These problems also constitute the challenge that should be faced in the study of TCM fundamental theories. Therefore researchers of TCM fundamental theories should attach great importance to the formulation of their rational study orientation and target plan starting from TCM classics and through sober consideration.
