用系统的思想和方法对多因素复杂性疾病进行研究的关键是要采取中医的整体性策略,完整地把握人体水平的病理生理变化特性,并进行“自上而下式”的还原分析,直至在分子水平上阐明疾病的发生和发展机制。我们提出采用这样研究策略下的“系统生物医学”概念,旨在提倡建立一个具有我国特色的、具有预测性、预防性和个性化治疗功能的医学体系。“系统生物医学”的研究方法更符合多基因复杂性疾病的特点,能够充分发扬祖国医学的优势,有力推动中医学和西方现代医学研究的汇聚和融合。

The study on multi-factorial,complex diseases is to take a holistic strategy as routinely employed by traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）over many years of practice and to capture the pathophysiological information and characteristics in totality,and to use a “top-down” analytical approach,aiming to elucidate the biochemical alterations and molecular mechanisms associated with disease onset and development.We put forward a “Systems Biomedicine” concept to carry out such a research strategy,with a purpose of facilitating the evolution of a predictive,preventive and personalized medical research system.Such a global systems approach,stemmed from the holistic view of TCM,is tailored to the polygenic,complex diseases,and to greatly promote the modernization of TCM,leading to an effective communication between the.Western and Chinese medical systems in the future.
