自1999年代谢组学的概念提出以来,它在药物毒理研究、疾病诊断、系统生物学研究等诸多领域里的应用日益深入。代谢组学由于其从代谢网络终端表象的整体角度反映生物体的功能水平,恰与中医的整体思想吻合。它的研究思路和方法,对阐明中医的证候本质及药物的作用机制具有积极的意义,本文综述了近年来代谢物组学研究现状,并对该领域在中医药研究中的应用和发展进行了展望。

Metabonomics, since its birth,has found increasing applications in numerous areas, including drug toxicity,disease diagnosis, and system biology. Metabonomics studies biological functions, looking into metabolism as a whole. It shares some similarities with the TCM theory. The roadmap presented by metabonomics makes a good reference for improving the understanding of TCM syndromes and therapeutic mechanisms of herbal medicines. In this paper,authors reviewed the past results of metabonomic studies, and proposed to extend applications of metabonomics to TCM.
