药物基因组学（pharmacogenomics）和药物代谢组学（pharmacometabonomics）作为系统生物学中的两个新兴学科,对于中医疗效和安全性进行科学评价具有广阔的应用空间,她们同样以整体和动态的观点来认识、解释、进而预测个体对药物治疗的效应,它们的发展将有力推动个性化治疗,尤其是两者与中医学的辨证施治思想相结合,必将促进现代药物治疗水平的提升以及未来医疗模式向系统化转变,极大地促进中医药学科的现代化发展。

With the increasing need for a scientifically viable assessment of clinical efficacy and safety of Chinese medical therapy, the advent of Systems Biology has opened up an unprecedented opportunity for the in-depth and systematic study and modernization of traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）. The two emerging technological platforms, pharmacogenomcis and pharmacometabonomics,are taking a systems and dynamic view, similar to TCM, to understand,interpret, and predict pharmacological outcomes on different individuals. These two approaches, combined with TCM, will facilitate the quality improvement of healthcare as well as the transformation of modern medical system from a much fragmentary form to a more systems-oriented direction, and will also facilitate the development of the modernization of our traditional medical system.
