广东省2008年开始实施中药现代化重大专项，该专项以市场为导向，以政府在高技术产业发展中的推动作用和引导作用为动力，以企业为主体，产学研结合为技术依托，针对制约中药高技术产业化发展中的关键共性技术问题，重点支持，重点突破；主要在推动中药规范化种植、构建中药现代化科技平台、促进现代中药产品创新、培育中药高新技术企业等方面取得了明显成效，得到科技部肯定和中医药界的欢迎，为“国家中药现代化科技产业基地（广东）”的建设起到重要支撑作用，为广东建设“中医药强省”提供了重要的基础和支持。

From 2008,Guangdong begines to implement major project of modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine which is market-oriented, using the government's pushing and guiding effect on the development of high technology industry as a driving force. Enterprises are the main body of this project . With the integration of production, teaching and research,it focus on breakthroughs of key and common technical issues of constraints for the development of Chinese high-tech industy . There are several remarkable results that have been achieved ,such as bringing up development of standardization of cultivation of Chinese medicine,building a technology platform of modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine,promoting innovation in modern Chinese medicine products,nurturing high-tech enterprises of Chinese medicine.These achivements have been praised by Ministry of Science and Technology and welcomed by the Chinese medicine field.All of these provide an important support for the construction of the base of National Industrial Base modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangdong and the realization of Guangdong's stragety of "Being TCM's leader".
