20年前在山东泰安召开的“首届全国道地药材研讨会”是我国道地药材和产业发展的里程碑，本文就20年来该领域产学研各方面的发展及前景进行了回顾与展望。

The First National Symposium on Chinese Geo-herbals was held from October 26 to 29, 1989 in Taian, Shandong Province, China. Since then the academic research and developmental strategies of Chinese Geo-herbals have attracted nationwide attention from scholars, manufacturers, businessmen, educators, and managers. This symposium is regarded as a milestone for genuine regional drugs because it not only created a new era and a new front field, but also brought a train of new thoughts for genuine regional drug development.
