本研究在探索化学成分相似的中药的药性过程中，发现了“药性空洞”现象———在化学成分相似的中药集合中，大部分中药具有某药性，唯独个别中药没有该药性，这些个别中药就形成了该药性的“药性空洞”。然而，针对药性空洞中药的进一步文献调研显示这些药物能够或多或少地表现出空缺药性相关的功效，即说明化学成分相似的中药其药性也较为相似。药性空洞的发现对中药药性的补充和预测工作有一定的参考价值。

The fundamental materials of Chinese herbs are chemical constituents. It is usually considered that herbs with similar chemical compositions have similar Chinese medicinal properties. However, some herbs are different which form the "property holes". The closely-linked drugs in chemical composition usually have a certain property, while the drugs of "property holes" are without this property. Relative literature manifests that they have more or less the empty property. These conclusions can be used in the prediction of herbal properties.
