[Abstract]
Chronic pain is one of the challenges that afflicts all of humanity, and its pathogenesis is not fully understood, resulting in its incomplete and ineffective control. Acupuncture treatment has become one of the main therapies for the treatment of chronic pain worldwide, but its mechanism of action remains unclear. Epigenetics focuses on the phenotypic or gene expression changes that occur in the absence of changes in the nucleotide sequence of genes, which are closely related to the occurrence and development of chronic pain. In this paper, epigenetics is the main research direction, and its mechanism in the occurrence and development of chronic pain is reviewed at the molecular level, and the analgesic mechanism of acupuncture from an epigenetic perspective is explored, in order to provide a new perspective for the study of the mechanism of acupuncture analgesia.
