肿瘤的免疫治疗成为新一代的肿瘤治疗方法的大背景下，肿瘤免疫微环境发挥着重要作用。肿瘤微环境因其尤为复杂的成分，成为肿瘤细胞赖以生存和发展的环境。机体正常的免疫微环境可以在免疫监视的作用下有效抑制肿瘤的生长，但肿瘤免疫微环境由于其酸性、缺氧环境以及代谢产物堆积导致免疫细胞的免疫抑制或耐受表型，形成肿瘤免疫抑制微环境，干扰免疫系统正常的监视、效应功能。中医药可以通过多个方面作用于全身免疫系统有效缓解免疫抑制状态，其中扶正类中药可以对机体起到补气助阳滋阴养血的作用，从而在肿瘤微环境中改善机体免疫水平以及细胞状态，促进免疫细胞活性的作用。目前重塑肿瘤免疫抑制微环境（immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment，ITM）逐渐成为肿瘤免疫治疗的新方向。
